Our focus is mainly on initiatives that provide sustainable livelihoods in semi-rural areas, early learning development (ECD), Youth Development, Food security, shaping and mentoring leaders and Home Based Care Workers. By following a participatory approach in these communities, we are able to provide a level of consistency and stability for communities that will be working on it s development challenges long after we or prospective funders have moved on. ACTS is in its third year of operation and our engagement with these communities is mainly long term. ACTS is sensitive to cultural and traditional parameters and our approach to the projects are non- prescriptive with the emphasis being on mentoring, facilitating and capacity building processes that leads to natural progression. Rather than being direct implementers of programmes, the projects are run at the grass roots level by dedicated community leaders and community volunteers.

Through our community development plan ACTS has been responsive to the plight of these communities by providing assistance over the last two and a half years to four community based projects that employs Fifty (50) voluntary care workers.
